My bathroom is trying to kill me. It's two against one. Grey against green. Accent against scheme. Budget against Veranda Magazine and finally ERA VS ERA.
I've had a migraine the last four days and i'm convinced it's been induced by the bathroom and ensuite, which refuse to come together in my visionary amateur designing brain.
The stress? I'm leaving to work away for a month in 6 days time, and the builder really requires the decisions made and items purchased, so my absence doesn't hold anything up, or leave any questions pending.
In my never ending pinter-quest to find the best possible bathroom design and decor, i came across this very timely article with great suggestions:

What would I tell me a year ago? A list of 6.
- Stress less. Don’t run a concurrent version of “what should behappening” in your head.
- Keep better track of your budget and keep it up-to-date.
- Get rid of even more stuff before moving. Yea, that pre-move “sorting?” You weren’t even trying.
- It’s easier to find patience than extra cash.
- CLEAN UP (mud pans, palette knives and paint brushes) right after you finish. It’ll be months before you look at them again.
- Don’t expect to finish 10 things in a day – it’s impossible & you’ll go to bed disappointed.
But let’s not dwell – let’s demolish the bathroom instead. Ready?
*stress*
So my major stress at the moment is coordinating everything for my dream bathroom. I purchased tiles, tapware and worked with a cabinet maker to create the vanity of my dreams. Which all seemed fine, until the final decor details needed to be organised.
The lighting, on top, or either side of the vanity mirror?
I'd prefer either side, but then i haven't found a mirror yet. And then, how about a ceiling pendant to tie the room together and match the vanity lights? Great plan! But hold up, no vanity lighting because i haven't chosen a mirror which has left the ceiling pendant no where to be found... And the circus in my head continues.
At least i chose the tiles already. Oh wait, do they have to stay the same?
