Tiling Tales

Joe Balls tiler du jour, is hard at work tiling the two bathrooms - and spent all weekend at the mansion, perfecting the wall and floor tiles.

Last Friday, we had to make lots of decisions and changes with regard to tiling the main bathroom. The screed that had been laid prior to Joe's arrival on the scene was extremely uneven, and required half a day spent with a concrete grinder to make sure the waste wasn't 2cm higher than the rest of the room anymore. *drama*

There were definitely tears.

Anyway, onwards and upwards. Lesson learnt: i need my own water level. (and measuring tape - but thats another tale)

I bought hexagonal tile mosaics for the main bathroom - in white - with two sheets of black. The mosaics that came with automatic blacks in the pattern had way too many black tiles, so i bought two sheets and I've cut them up - and as joe tiled, we created a pattern and replaced the white tiles where i wanted black ones.

I think it's looking good!
