Bathroom Painting

Two bathrooms, two style schemes and two different paint colours... In theory.

The cornices are in and need some ceiling white paint (along with the ceiling) to make them all pretty; but the space between the top of the tiles and the cornices, 2m higher, needs painting.

The ensuite bathroom has dark brown patterned floor tiles, with brown, charcoal and white in them. I was thinking perhaps to use charcoal paint for the top - but it could also look a bit harsh. Maybe brown?

Looks awesome here - although the tiles are quite a bit lower... but possible...

With all the dark fittings, dark paint might complement the style - but also might shrink the room and look dusty after a while. Here the dark fittings stand out nicely against white everything - and look great.

This one also has the dark tapware- and was an original member of the inspiration board for the interior design here. No paint though.. But the tiles are the same height.. Nice to see them contrasting and looking great.

The bigger bathroom has off white hexagonal tiles with black spotted through, and white wall tiles - and lots of polished nickel just to make life hard. A glass light fitting in here as well as the solar tube. I was thinking grey walls to bring out the grey grout on the floor - although the colour may clash with the paint on the other walls of the house (which are a pinky-ochrey grey)..

Looks awesome here:

And def here; which was my inspiration picture for that bathroom in the first place:

Tomorrow: paint tester day. Off to Solver first thing to buy some test pots. Charcoal, grey & a rich white tone. Who knows what that means. And buntings for some new paint brushes (and chicken poop for the garden). Even with an account; solver has better priced paint, but buntings wins out on the accessories.

  1. I prefer green-grey color, it's much cooler to the eyes.
