Pergola Building

The South face of the extension 'build' has created a narrow garden strip - about 3m deep, between the southern end of the building and my neighbours wall. This originally housed a decent stretch of garden and my clothes line, but now will become a bit of a walkway.

In an effort to make it interesting, i've decided to build a pergola.

Very retro, i've been told, totally on trend. What a hipster i am. I wish i'd been told earlier. I've have gotten a sleeve tattoo.

The pergola will likely be attached with enormous bolts to the southern facing wall of the house, and then require some sort of 'sticks'to hold it up on the other side.

I say sticks, i mean legs, or pillar.. Or long wooden planks of reasonable depth and width enough to hold up 800kgs of either:

- wisteria (first choice)
- grape vine (goes with the 'med' look i'm going for with olive trees, lavender and lemon tree)
- passionfruit
- bougainvillea (security option?)

Maybe i could plant one of each at the base of every corner and let them grow into a combined massive creeper jungle!

Maybe not.

Thoughts? Feelings?

Bougainvillea?

Grapes?

 Wisteria?

Or Passionfruit?
