The laundry outdoor room, from the original
design, was about two feet deeper – but using my phenomenal powers of
architectural knowledge – id actually built onto my drive way – which I didn’t
want. Perth is known for once-in-hundred-year hail storms that come out of
nowhere (and usually don’t even remotely effect Fremantle but hey, cure vs
whatever.. )
So, the laundry went on a diet so I would
still be able to fit my car down there (thank you collapsible washing line).
Result of which – no more bricked walls.
The main house is brick – so I really wanted it matchy matchy – but no can. The
reason is far to complicated for me to worry about – but something to do with….
No, can’t explain it. Builderspeak.
Looking for other cladding, since bricks
are to be done away with… Options:
Outdoor wallpaper on fibre-board panels? ME LIKEY.

COLORBOND (my house shall not be
corrugated) -- images from Colorbond.
And the winner is (thank you for the
anonymous suggestion by a person who shall never mention that they suggested it
every again on pain of excommunication): WEATHERBOARD
It is looking so very very pretty!
BIG fan of my mottled glass windows and door too. See that flat-opening door. So clever.
Builder-in-training Josh - lining up and measuring the planks - i imagine making sure they are straight.
<3 it!
Weatherboard turns out to look super-great and perfectly matches with the existing house. YEY for weatherboard. Thank you person with great building ideas :) (Though ill never say it in person)..
