I sat bolt upright when i woke up this morning and jumped straight out of bed, with a huge to do list of 'renovation-extension' related fun. I didn't event change out of pyjamas, just grabbed my laptop and started moving through the list.
Something was happening today.
I was so sure, something important was happening today. Maybe just my Barre class?
*oh crap* My slab was being poured and i'd totally forgotten. I really wanted to see that happen! 9.30am - maybe it hadn't happened yet? I raced over to site, and found my foundations had certainly been laid.
I missed the pouring part, but got to be there to watch the crew from Rama Concrete smooth out the slab - which because of in-slab floor heating and my choice of terrazzo tiling, needed to be perfectly smooth and even (as the tiles would be laid with no scree under to balance the floor). Another new and interesting building fact.
So the base is down - from here the 'brickies' come through and build walls, windows go in, roof goes on, lots more plaster work :)
